92_HB1356amv001 LRB9203588LBgcamv MOTION I move to accept the specific recommendations of the Governor as to House Bill 1356 in manner and form as follows: AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 1356 IN ACCEPTANCE OF GOVERNOR'S RECOMMENDATIONS Amend House Bill 1356 on page 1, line 26, by deleting "Before January 1,"; and on page 1, by deleting lines 27 through 29; and on page 2, by deleting lines 1 through 5; and on page 2, line 6, by deleting "Act."; and on page 2, line 10, after the period, by inserting "This Section does not apply to speech-language pathology paraprofessionals approved by the State Board of Education."; and on page 30, line 12, after the word "assistant", by inserting "or a speech-language pathology paraprofessional"; and on page 31, line 18, by deleting "Before"; and on page 31, by deleting lines 19 through 22; and on page 32, line 22, by inserting "(a)" after the period; and on page 33, after line 2, by inserting the following: "(b) Until January 1, 2004, a person holding a bachelor's level degree in communication disorders who was employed to assist a speech-language pathologist on the effective date of this amendatory Act of the 92nd General Assembly shall be eligible to receive a license as a speech-language pathology assistant from the Department upon completion of forms prescribed by the Department and the payment of the required fee.". -2- LRB9203588LBgcamv Date: , 2001
