Amend House Bill 2046 on page 1, 3 line 5, by changing "Section 25" to "Sections 25 and 30"; and 4 on page 2, after line 10, by inserting the following: 5 "(410 ILCS 4/30) 6 Sec. 30. Exemption from civil liability. 7 (a) A physician licensed in Illinois to practice 8 medicine in all its branches who authorizes the purchase of 9 an automated external defibrillator is not liable for civil 10 damages as a result of any act or omission arising out of 11 authorizing the purchase of an automated external 12 defibrillator, except for willful or wanton misconduct, if 13 the requirements of this Act are met. 14 (b) An individual or entity providing training in the 15 use of automated external defibrillators is not liable for 16 civil damages as a result of any act or omission involving 17 the use of an automated external defibrillator, except for 18 willful or wanton misconduct, if the requirements of this Act 19 are met. 20 (c) A person owning, occupying, or managing the premises 21 where an automated external defibrillator is located or to 22 which an automated external defibrillator has been moved for -2- LRB9202183DJgcam01 1 use is not liable for civil damages as a result of any act or 2 omission involving the use of an automated external 3 defibrillator, except for willful or wanton misconduct, if 4 the requirements of this Act are met. 5 (d) A trained AED user is not liable for civil damages 6 as a result of any act or omission involving the use of an 7 automated external defibrillator in an emergency situation, 8 except for willful or wanton misconduct, if the requirements 9 of this Act are met. 10 (Source: P.A. 91-524, eff. 1-1-00.)".
