Amend House Bill 5255 on page 3, 3 line 1, after the period, by inserting "For those vehicles 4 that fail to meet the standard for the complete on-board 5 computer diagnostic test, the owner of the vehicle must be 6 informed that he or she has the option to have the vehicle 7 tested using the less stringent loaded mode exhaust gas 8 analysis or the idle exhaust gas analysis, as appropriate, 9 for one test cycle."; and 10 on page 3, line 21, by replacing "regulations." with 11 "regulations, or for vehicles with known on-board diagnostic 12 communications or software problems, as determined by the 13 Agency."; and 14 on page 3, below line 25, by inserting the following: 15 "By April 15, 2003, the Agency shall submit to the 16 General Assembly a report detailing the effectiveness of the 17 use of the on-board computer diagnostic test. The report 18 shall include the number of failures, the reason for each 19 failure, the number of vehicle damage complaints, and the 20 average wait time at the test stations."; and 21 on page 4, line 10, by replacing "regulations." with 22 "regulations, or for vehicles with known on-board diagnostic -2- LRB9211482DHgcam01 1 communications or software problems, as determined by the 2 Agency.".
