 1        AN ACT making appropriations for the Office of the  State
 2    Appellate Defender.

 3        Be  it  enacted  by  the People of the State of Illinois,
 4    represented in the General Assembly:

 5        Section 1. The following named amounts,  or  so  much  of
 6    those  amounts  as  may  be  necessary, respectively, for the
 7    objects and purposes named,  are  appropriated  to  meet  the
 8    ordinary  and  contingent expenses of the Office of the State
 9    Appellate Defender.
10    For Personal Services...........................  $12,326,615
11    For Employee Retirement Contributions
12        Paid by Employer............................      493,065
13    For State Contribution to State Employees'
14        Retirement System...........................    1,306,621
15    For State Contributions to
16        Social Security.............................      942,986
17    For Contractual Services........................    2,721,022

26        Section 5. The following named amounts,  or  so  much  of

29    for  the  ordinary  and  contingent  expenses  of the Capital
30    Litigation Division.

14        Section 10. The following named amounts, so much of those
15    amounts as may be necessary, respectively,  for  the  objects
16    and  purposes  names,  are  appropriated to the Office of the
17    State Appellate Defender for expenses  related  to  federally
18    assisted  program  to work on drug and violent crimes appeals
19    cases to  which  the  agency  is  appointed  and  to  provide
20    statewide training and services to Illinois Public Defenders.
21    Payable from State Appellate
22        Defender Federal Trust Fund.................      600,000
23    For State matching purposes:
24    Payable from Special State
25        Projects Fund...............................      200,000

26        Section  15. The following named amount of $2,627,675, or
27    such much thereof as may be necessary, is  appropriated  from
28    the  Capital Litigation Trust Fund to the Office of the State
29    Appellate  Defender  for  expenses  incurred   in   providing
30    assistance  to  trial attorneys under item (c) (5) of Section
31    10 of the State Appellate Defender Act.

 1        Section 99. Effective Date. This Act takes effect July 1,
 2    2002.
