Amend Senate Bill 1276 as follows: 3 by replacing everything after the enacting clause with the 4 following: 5 "Section 5. The Senior Citizens and Disabled Persons 6 Property Tax Relief and Pharmaceutical Assistance Act is 7 amended by adding Section 9.2 as follows: 8 (320 ILCS 25/9.2 new) 9 Sec. 9.2. Pharmaceutical Assistance Program Review 10 Committee. The Pharmaceutical Assistance Program Review 11 Committee is created. The committee shall consist of 15 12 members as follows: 13 (1) 2 members of the General Assembly appointed by 14 the President of the Senate, 2 members of the General 15 Assembly appointed by the minority leader of the Senate, 16 2 members of the General Assembly appointed by the 17 Speaker of the House of Representatives and 2 members of 18 the General Assembly appointed by the minority leader of 19 the House of Representatives; 20 (2) the Director of Aging or his or her designee; 21 (3) the Director of Revenue or his or her designee; -2- SRS92SB1276DLbmam01 1 (4) the Director of Public Aid or his or her 2 designee; 3 (5) the Secretary of Human Services or his or her 4 designee; 5 (6) a representative of AARP; 6 (7) a representative of the Pharmaceutical Research 7 and Manufacturers of America; and 8 (8) a representative of the Illinois Pharmacists 9 Association. 10 The President of the Senate and Speaker of the House of 11 Representatives shall each designate one member to serve as 12 co-chairs. The Committee shall meet at the call of the 13 co-chairs. Members shall serve without compensation but may 14 be reimbursed for necessary expenses. The Committee may 15 conduct public hearings to gather testimony from interested 16 parties regarding the necessity for pharmaceutical assistance 17 for Illinois seniors including changes to the pharmaceutical 18 assistance program. The Committee shall report to the General 19 Assembly and the Governor annually or as it deems necessary 20 regarding changes to the pharmaceutical assistance program 21 and any associated costs of those changes. 22 This Section is repealed on July 1, 2006. 23 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon 24 becoming law.".
