92_SB1576 LRB9213661RCcd 1 AN ACT in relation to criminal law. 2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, 3 represented in the General Assembly: 4 Section 5. The Criminal Code of 1961 is amended by 5 changing Section 24-3.4 as follows: 6 (720 ILCS 5/24-3.4) (from Ch. 38, par. 24-3.4) 7 Sec. 24-3.4. Unlawful sale of firearms by liquor 8 licensee. 9 (a) It shall be unlawful for any person who holds a 10 license to sell at retail any alcoholic liquor issued by the 11 Illinois Liquor Control Commission or local liquor control 12 commissioner under the Liquor Control Act of 1934 or an agent 13 or employee of the licensee to sell or deliver to any other 14 person a firearm in or on the real property of the 15 establishment where the licensee is licensed to sell 16 alcoholic liquors unless the licensed seller is primarily 17 engaged in the business of selling tangible personal property 18 at retail and the sale or delivery of the firearm is 19 otherwise lawful under this Article and under the Firearm 20 Owners Identification Card Act. 21 (b) Sentence. A violation of subsection (a) of this 22 Section is a Class 4 felony. 23 (Source: P.A. 87-591.) 24 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon 25 becoming law.
