Provides the short title only. HOUSE AMENDMENT NO. 1. Creates the Carbon Sequestration Study Act. Creates the Carbon Sequestration Advisory Committee and establishes its membership and duties. Provides that the Director of Agriculture shall appoint the members and chairperson and provide staffing support for the Committee. Provides that the members of the Committee shall serve without compensation, but may be reimbursed for necessary expenses incurred in the performance of their duties. Requires the Committee to report to the General Assembly not later than February 1, 2002. Provides for the Act's repeal on June 1, 2002. Effective immediately.
