Makes a technical change in a Section concerning a local tax to pay for the costs of liability insurance and other items. SENATE AMENDMENT NO. 1. Deletes everything after the enacting clause. Amends the Local Governmental and Governmental Employees Tort Immunity Act. Provides that if a school district was a member of a joint-self-health-insurance cooperative that had more liability in outstanding claims than revenue to pay those claims, the school board of that district may by resolution make a one-time transfer from the Tort Immunity Fund to the Education Fund of an amount not to exceed the amount of the liability claim that the school district owes to the joint-self-health-insurance cooperative. Effective immediately. HOUSE AMENDMENT NO. 1. Authorizes a school board to make a one-time transfer from any fund in which tort immunity moneys are maintained to the fund or funds from which payments to a joint-self-health-insurance cooperative can be or have been made (instead of from the Tort Immunity Fund to the Education Fund) in connection with the payment of liability claims, and allows such a transfer in an amount that the school district paid within the 2 years immediately preceding the effective date of this amendatory Act (as an alternative to an amount not exceeding the amount of the school district's liability claim owed to the joint-self-health-insurance cooperative).
