SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Frank B. Robinson of Rock Island, who passed away on November 12, 2023; and

WHEREAS, Frank Robinson was born to William Robert and Aleta Elva Chapman Robinson in Rochester, New York on February 3, 1936; he married Joan Kieso at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Aurora, Illinois on December 26, 1959; he served in the U.S. Army from 1959 to 1961; he earned his undergraduate degree from Aurora College and his master's degree from the University of Illinois; and

WHEREAS, Frank Robinson worked as a biology teacher in the Rock Island/Milan School District No. 41 for 30 years; and

WHEREAS, Frank Robinson attended Two Rivers United Methodist Church in Rock Island, where he sang in the choir, played bells, taught Sunday school, and volunteered at the meal site for 20 years; he enjoyed volunteering at the Quad City Botanical Center and Black Hawk State Park, where he led many bird-watching expeditions; and

WHEREAS, Frank Robinson loved canoeing, bird-watching, wood carving, and traveling abroad, and he and his wife traveled to 12 countries together; he was an avid golfer and gardener and enjoyed spending any free time he had outdoors; he cherished spending time with his granddaughters more than anything; and

WHEREAS, Frank Robinson lived a life of service to others and was a dear friend to many; and

WHEREAS, Frank Robinson was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; his daughter, Susan Natalie Robinson; and his siblings, Nola Marie Corbally, Frederick K. Williamson Robinson, and Joseph Robert Robinson; and

WHEREAS, Frank Robinson is survived by his children, Karin Joan (Dennis) Weigel and Thomas Lee Robinson, and his grandchildren, Sydney Suzanne Weigel, Kaylee Marie Weigel, McKenzie Karin Weigel, and Chelsey Denae Weigel; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Frank B. Robinson and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Frank Robinson as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
