 1                    AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 1417

 2        AMENDMENT NO.     .  Amend Senate Bill 1417 by  replacing
 3    everything after the enacting clause with the following:

 4        "Section  5.   The  Illinois Insurance Code is amended by
 5    changing Section 356x as follows:

 6        (215 ILCS 5/356x)
 7        Sec. 356x.  Coverage  for  colorectal  cancer  screening;
 8    application.
 9        (a)  An  insurer  shall  provide  in  each  group policy,
10    contract, or certificate of  accident  and  health  insurance
11    amended,  delivered,  issued, or renewed covering persons who
12    are residents of this State coverage  for  colorectal  cancer
13    screening  with  sigmoidoscopy  or fecal occult blood testing
14    once every 3 years for persons who are at least 50 years old.
15        (b)  For persons who may be classified as high  risk  for
16    colorectal cancer because the person or a first degree family
17    member  of the person has a history of colorectal cancer, the
18    coverage required under subsection (a) shall apply to persons
19    who have attained at least 30 years of age.
20        (c)  This  Section  does   not   apply   to   agreements,
21    contracts,  or policies that provide coverage for a specified
22    disease or other limited benefit coverage.
