1 AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 5832
2     AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 5832, AS AMENDED, by
3 replacing everything after the enacting clause with the
4 following:

5     "Section 5. The Rivers, Lakes, and Streams Act is amended
6 by adding Section 40 as follows:

7     (615 ILCS 5/40 new)
8     Sec. 40. Dock safety.
9     (a) A person who places or causes to be placed a dock in
10 any river, lake, or stream regulated by the Department of
11 Natural Resources shall equip the dock with reflector tape, or
12 any other reflective material or equipment, in such a manner
13 that it can be seen by an approaching boat.
14     (b) A person who violates this Section commits a petty
15 offense punishable by a fine of not more than $100. A person
16 who violates this Section and the violation results in injury

1 or death of another person commits a Class A misdemeanor.".
