1 AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 509
2 AMENDMENT NO. . Amend Senate Bill 509 on page 1, by
3 replacing lines 1 and 2 with the following:
4 "AN ACT concerning county sheriffs."; and
5 on page 1, line 5, by inserting "by changing Section 3-15012
6 and" after "amended"; and
7 on page 1, by inserting below line 17, the following:
8 "(55 ILCS 5/3-15012) (from Ch. 34, par. 3-15012)
9 Sec. 3-15012. Executive Director. The Sheriff shall
10 appoint a an Executive Director to act as the chief
11 executive and administrative officer of the Department. The
12 Executive Director shall be appointed by the Sheriff from a
13 list of 3 persons nominated by the members of the Board. He
14 or she shall serve at the pleasure of the Sheriff. If the
15 Executive Director is removed, the Board shall nominate 3
16 persons, one of whom shall be selected by the Sheriff to
17 serve as Executive Director. The Executive Director's
18 compensation is determined by the County Board.
