90_SB0734enr 210 ILCS 45/2-213 new Amends the Nursing Home Care Act. Provides that before a prospective resident's admission to a nursing home the nursing home shall advise the prospective resident to consult a physician to determine whether the prospective resident should obtain a pneumonia shot. Provides that once every 12 months a nursing home shall advise each resident of the nursing home to consult a physician to determine whether the resident should obtain a pneumonia shot. Effective immediately. The Nursing Home Care Act is amended by 5 adding Section 2-213 as follows: 6 (210 ILCS 45/2-213 new) 7 Sec. 2-213. Pneumonia shots. Before a prospective 8 resident's admission to a facility the facility shall advise 9 the prospective resident to consult a physician to determine 10 whether the prospective resident should obtain a vaccination 11 against pneumococcal pneumonia. 12 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon 13 becoming law.
