 1        AN ACT in relation to property.

 2        Be it enacted by the People of  the  State  of  Illinois,
 3    represented in the General Assembly:

 4        Section  5.   The  Code  of Civil Procedure is amended by
 5    changing Section 7-103.48 as follows:

 6        (735 ILCS 5/7-103.48)
 7        Sec. 7-103.48.  Quick-take; MetroLink Light Rail System.
 8    Quick-take proceedings under Section 7-103 may be used for  a
 9    period  of  60  48  36  months after January 16, 1997, by the
10    Bi-State  Development   Agency   of   the   Missouri-Illinois
11    Metropolitan   District  for the acquisition of rights of way
12    and related  property  necessary  for  the  construction  and
13    operation  of  the  MetroLink Light Rail System, beginning in
14    East St. Louis, Illinois,  and  terminating  at  Mid  America
15    Airport, St. Clair County, Illinois.

18        Section 99.  Effective date.  This Act takes effect  upon
19    becoming law.
