92_HB0629eng HB0629 Engrossed LRB9207052NTsb 1 AN ACT relating to schools. 2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, 3 represented in the General Assembly: 4 Section 5. The School Code is amended by adding Sections 5 10-28 and 34-21.8 as follows: 6 (105 ILCS 5/10-28 new) 7 Sec. 10-28. Prevention of Internet access to sexually 8 explicit material. In this Section, "sexually explicit 9 material" means material that is obscene, child pornography, 10 or material harmful to minors, as those terms are defined 11 under Sections 11-20, 11-20.1, and 11-21 of the Criminal Code 12 of 1961. Within 6 months after the effective date of this 13 amendatory Act of the 92nd General Assembly, each school 14 board shall adopt and implement a policy to prevent students 15 from gaining access to or being exposed to sexually explicit 16 materials on the Internet while on school grounds. The board 17 must maintain a copy of the policy. Upon request, the board 18 must make available a copy of the policy for inspection. 19 Compliance with this Section is subject to an audit by the 20 State Board of Education. 21 Within 6 months after the effective date of this 22 amendatory Act of the 92nd General Assembly, each school 23 board shall file a copy of the policy required under this 24 Section with the State Board of Education. 25 (105 ILCS 5/34-21.8 new) 26 Sec. 34-21.8.
