SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:

50 ILCS 725/3.4

Amends the Uniform Peace Officers' Disciplinary Act. Requires that a peace officer under investigation shall be informed in writing (now, not required to be written) of the name, rank, and unit or command of the officer in charge of the investigation, the interrogators, and all persons who will be present on the behalf of the employer (now, all persons present during any interrogation) during any interrogation except at a public administrative proceeding.

A BILL FOR

AN ACT concerning peace officers.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

Section 5. The Uniform Peace Officers' Disciplinary Act is amended by changing Section 3.4 as follows:

Sec. 3.4. The officer under investigation shall be informed in writing of the name, rank and unit or command of the officer in charge of the investigation, the interrogators, and all persons who will be present on the behalf of the employer during any interrogation except at a public administrative proceeding.
