Provides that territory annexed under an agreement shall be zoned according to the agreement. The Illinois Municipal Code is amended by 6 changing Section 7-1-47 as follows: 7 (65 ILCS 5/7-1-47) (from Ch. 24, par. 7-1-47) 8 Sec. 7-1-47. Automatic zoning classification. When 9 territory is annexed to a municipality that does not provide 10 by ordinance for automatic zoning in a different manner, the 11 territory is automatically classified to the highest zoning 12 classification providing principally for residential use. 13 Territory annexed to the municipality pursuant to an 14 annexation agreement shall be zoned in accordance with that 15 agreement if it provides a zoning categoryThe corporate16authorities of any municipality may provide by ordinance that17when territory is annexed to such municipality, the territory18automatically is classified to the highest restrictive use19under the annexing municipality's zoning ordinance. 20 (Source: Laws 1965, p. 2178.)
